      Yes, I think it has. They're distinct ideas, and I for one have always rejected qualia (understood as invertible, possibly absent, intrinsic properties), on bio-psycho-phenomenological grounds

          I asked because one could imagine "sure insects may process information to maintain allostasis but they don't have qualia!" as the sort of thing a skeptic would say.

          Some would say that, but I don't think such scenarios are actually conceivable when properly spelled out (I reject the positive conceivability of zombies, not just the attempted move from conceivability to possibility)

          And critically, as you (Evan) have often argued, this means that there are loads of interesting questions about how consciousness is produced, as well as how it is experienced from the perspective of a particular entity!
