For the record, what I deny is the existence of consciousness in the philosophical sense -- the property that is immediately presented to introspection, that can be undetectably inverted, that Mary doesn't know, that zombies don't possess, etc

I agree -- and I think a lot of what phenomenologists do is tremendously useful and enlightening, though I see it through the lens of what Dennett calls heterophenomenology (a different kind of epoché!)
