But none of that matters, because that nervousness is there every single time. And I have given hundreds of presentations, trained thousands of people. On Thursday I am going to appear relaxed, maybe even funny at times. Because I am going to do what I always do. 3/x

I am going to prep prep prep without obsessing over it. And wait for adrenaline to kick in when I step on stage. And for a sliver of time I get to do something magical. I get to make a few hundred humans see the world through my eyes. 4/5

My least favorite part of conference speaking is the day before when I seriously question why I do it to myself, and promise to never submit another talk proposal. Then when I am done the talk, I seek out every cfp I can find.
