    Haha. Well I didn’t assume as much as folks did today. But the real lesson was - sometimes in snows in April and today was an avalanche 😂😂. Like Walter White, just gotta tread lightly

    Not at all and I’m not saying it doesn’t give a chance at recruiting. Just saying it’s not a guarantee. Nick Saban had a kid turn him down for Princeton. Calipari isn’t pulling the kids he did 5 yrs ago. Just showing up means just that.

    Is it sad that it gets us a foot in the door to have a coversation with the kids more than having a hall of fame coach? Kids know who Penny and Mike Miller are, not just in Memphis but worldwide

    Same in HS basketball - which is my point. Their influence is strong but there are a bunch of Nike schools kids will roll to first. I’ve seen it firsthand. Just saying if kids come to Memphis, brand name won’t be the only reason

    Penny means something to Nike and in college basketball shoe companies trump everything.

    I don’t see cats flocking to play for the Hornets b/c MJ runs things. Just saying we have to be careful assuming name recognition = drop the presses, I’m coming to Memphis. Ws will do that.

    Doesn't he have the second highest grossing signature shoe all time to only MJ? Isn't that shoe still currently grossing, more than 20 years after Penny's heyday?

    Yes indeed. If the goal is to recruit Memphis, they got that on lock. I’m just saying don’t assume Penny/Miller show up and out of state kids will just flock b/c we know those names. Winning will do that more than name.

    But they both ran highly successful EYBL programs. Recruits the next few years will know them by that. Memphis kids will know Penny cause Penny is Memphis

    Should I be the cold water guy and say that Mike Miller and Penny doesn’t guarantee kids are coming here? Because remember - they mean something to my generation and parents of recruits but to 2000’s babies, it’s gonna be a tougher sell. Least outside of Memphis
