Perhaps if thousands of people have suggested something other than an all or nothing approach, it holds merit? You fight for important privacy policies, I respect that. But rallying anti-government sentiment while doing so makes it simple for people like this to take charge.

I see that you fundamentally don't understand that a civil liberties organization is or what impact litigation is meant to do.

Well acquainted with both the mission & execution. Not suggesting you abandon them. Pointing out that a) we are in this shitstorm because a large demographic thinks the gov is out to get them and b) you fed into that. You can help your audience fix this, not just say “called it.”

The NSA launched a years-long secret, unconstitutional program of mass surveillance. The problem is not that Snowden helped expose it or that EFF sued over it, it's that it happened in the first place.

Even Chris Inglis admitted that public knowledge of the program allowed for productive debate. Challenge the lawfulness if you wish. But the manner in which facts came to light did nothing to help America and much to help Russia. We now see the fallout uninformed rage brings.

It'd be easier to challenge if they didn't try to get cases thrown out on BS reasons like jurisdiction. If the IC thinks their program was lawful, why didn't they just lay out why it is and let a judge decide?
