Many in the 'declined to respond' category were likely of European or Asian ancestry, though-- so this conclusion isn't entirely supported by the data. Regardless, I think this practice is appalling and I have refused to comply with it in 100% of instances.

In haste to join the fray, regret not providing the very latest numbers from their 2019 Diversity & Inclusion Report. Good News! They’ve made excellent progress toward diversity since 2017, having further reduced the share of white employees to 42%!

Interestingly with exception of tech dinosaurs like HP & Dell, where probably quite a few old boomers still sticking around & enjoying privileged seniority, whites are actually UNDERREPRESENTED based on their share of the population at many tech employers.https://informationisbeautiful.net/visualizations/diversity-in-tech/ …
