Is the Matt Hancock affair the UK equivalent of Anthony Fauci emails? Both Hancock & Fauci were major forces for lockdown in countries where powerful political factions are pushing for an end to pandemic restrictions.

first question is no, it's the equivalent Pelosi's trip to the hair salon; second question is there are Tory backbenchers who are anti-lockdown but are powerless without Labour support.

true, although a "resignation" in the UK is not comparable to the US. I refer more to the impact on the discourse, ie it's a storm in a tea cup whereas the Fauci emails - to my mind - are more damning
