Is the Matt Hancock affair the UK equivalent of Anthony Fauci emails? Both Hancock & Fauci were major forces for lockdown in countries where powerful political factions are pushing for an end to pandemic restrictions.

What powerful political faction is pushing for end of restrictions in UK?
not entirely sure, but as it's one of the only hard-lockdown jurisdictions that has promised an end to restrictions in the near future, I assume there is substantial political pressure for this.

first question is no, it's the equivalent Pelosi's trip to the hair salon; second question is there are Tory backbenchers who are anti-lockdown but are powerless without Labour support.

I think you're assuming that they are trustworthy and that they will follow through with what they say. Johnson said that it was set in stone that all would open up on 21st June but then they changed it at the last minute.
