Then they get promoted & they help each other, this informal society of the diligent. Whatever they’re assigned, they maximise it. They make it the Whole Thing. It‘s like a photocopy assistant who just copies thousands of worthless pages all the time for no reason.

One of the things about men in professional contexts, is (as a rule), you assign them problems, they make these problems go away. Women, particularly the diligent and virtuous ones, do not make problems go away. They make them into permanent bureaucratic monuments.

W@H next to my wife for 1.5 yrs. She is in the HR space. They have created so much bloat and inefficiency surrounding diversity and "back to the office" it'd make the Soviet Bureau of Labor look efficient.

lol had exactly the same situation. it ended with me having a fit after one too many zoom calls where a cadre of concerned-looking goodie-two-shoes affirmed each others' points without ever reaching a decision, always deferring to taking it "offline" or "circling back"
