Do we know how many Corona patients are even in the ICU? No, DIVI only tracks cases. "So it happens that the DIVI numbers are an over-estimation. Around 30 percent" What does that mean, asks Welt? It means that transferred patients get counted twice, says our health economist.pic.twitter.com/QgtP0Q92jQ
"The big scandal, is that, via public health insurance, we finance too many beds. The sector is so large, that hospitals are incentivised to admit patients, often even when it is unnecessary. There is certainly no bottleneck in beds, or in ICU capacity".pic.twitter.com/LT9uV2Hhq2
What about the argument, that German ICUs were at the limit? What does our health economist think of that? He thinks it's rubbish, put about to justify the measures. ICU has never been a bottleneck, and not since Apirl 2020 have hospitals even stopped elective procedures.pic.twitter.com/dO45TZYaeP
Basically the entire image of the pandemic we are fed by government websites is total garbage. In Germany we don't know how many people are sick with Corona, how many people are in hospital with it, or really anything at all. It's just complete garbage.https://www.welt.de/politik/deutschland/plus231872027/Corona-Krankenhaeuser-Zahl-der-Intensivbetten-war-nie-der-Engpass.html …
I still marvel at the fact that, seemingly because of some math modeler’s choice of boundary constraint or reporting metric, society has treated maximizing the single metric ‘percent of ICU Beds that are unoccupied’ as the sole objective of all of human civilization for a year+
it’s actually kind of miraculous that health decision makers, acting rationally on this one-dimensional incentive, didn’t build giant Potemkin Hospitals of empty ‘ICU Beds’ to goose the metric I mean, there were some temporary ones I guess but they didn’t stick
Similar frauds were perpetrated here, in the States, though perhaps not with the same sophistication. I have lost confidence in all professions and credentials of expertise. Majorities in all professions participated in this fraud and crime.
