The reality is that firing/forced resignation is nowhere near enough. Dr Garden Gnome was looked at as a leader by many parts of the world and the damage he did is immeasurable. I truly believe he and a number of others/orgs are guilty of crimes against humanity.
For the moment, it's enough to discredit them, because a lot of the mass containment nonsense sinks or swims on their credibility. They must moreover be made politically untouchable, so no future governments can associate with them.
Life requires courage, sooner or later. Stand now, or be caught lying prone later. Submitting to the rule of proven incompetents who won't respect us is useless. This is about principles, ethics and politics, not science.
