Given how when we locked down, cases dropped, it seems reasonable to assume that if we’d have locked down earlier, cases would have dropped earlier, and we could have spent more time with more relaxed restrictions (like in the summer of 2020) as opposed to the national lockdown.
All European lockdowns coincided with the end of Coronavirus season generally (ordinary human coronavirus infections peaking Feb/March in Europe). They were rain dances at the start of the monsoon.
