So I am watching Top Gun for the first time in my life. So far it is a movie in which nothing really happens and Tom Cruise is unbearable.

I've never watched Top Gun either, but the real attraction of the movie for me would be the F-14s. I thought they were the coolest when I was a kid.
I glued together a little plastic model of one of the F- planes as a child. Not sure if 14 or 16.

I had a whole squadron on the basement shelf, each done with a little more skill than the previous one. The worst part was waiting until the gloss lacquer had dried so I could apply the decals, let them dry, and give it a final coat of flat.
