Somebody in German Twitter today (I’ll never find the tweet again) said she didn‘t care about reopening, partly because the quick tests make everything not worth it, but also because she‘s already buried her past life & has moved on to mourning. Pretty much.

The other day I answered an ad for kitchen stuff. Turned out, it was a nearby restaurant going out of business. Owner was visibly upset. This is Texas, where things never fully shut down. Made me so sad.
Pub owner went out of business, nearly committed suicide. An old Turkish place just put all their little tea glasses in boxes in front of their restaurant with a sign telling passers-by to please take whatever they want ...

Old Tracht store disappeared, selling all their little bits and pieces in the window, from carpets to old computers and belt buckles, for whatever they can get.

To be fair, some of these would fall with the recession anyway. This one sold health food in a town with 6 donut shops. It was swimming upstream. Still...
