That’s depressing. Excessive lockdown made people fearful and irrational.
Somebody in German Twitter today (I’ll never find the tweet again) said she didn‘t care about reopening, partly because the quick tests make everything not worth it, but also because she‘s already buried her past life & has moved on to mourning. Pretty much.

That's incredibly on point. At some point I stopped caring about the "reopening". Restaurant capacity doesn't give me my old life back. Health theater makes everything tedious and depressing. I got into hiking because a few miles past the trailhead, COVID doesn't exist.

The other day I answered an ad for kitchen stuff. Turned out, it was a nearby restaurant going out of business. Owner was visibly upset. This is Texas, where things never fully shut down. Made me so sad.
