CFS, CLD, Fibromyalgia and Long Covid are the same disease entity, certainly perceived as real by afflicted people and accepted by the public through lobbying, which shouldn't be difficult with a Cofvid-related illness.
Before these you had older diagnoses, like Neurasthenia, which were broadly the same thing and had the same function. Psychotherapy was largely built on the bizarre ailments of 'Hysterics' Eventually the diagnoses become discredited and they're replaced with new ones

It was the same with the Neurasthenia diagnosis, which was to give the impression that hysterical symptoms were neurological, hence the name. What we call Neurasthenia would have been called Pseudoneurasthenia a hundred years ago.
