      This was criminal. All the procedures were done to maximise nursing staff convenience. There is long history of this though, negative pressure ventilators (the "iron lung") were far superior to PPV, but phased out because they were inconvenient and took up more space

      Yes, in this case it's primarily significant because it's mostly where the image of Corona as a super deadly disease come from.

      I wonder what the overall contribution to mortality was from using invasive PPV set to inappropriately high pressures was. Ventilator-associated pneumonia incidence alone was over 50%. Enormous iatrogenic effect

      In younger cohorts, I'd say it's surely most of the deaths. And those numbers are still in the statistics, inflating the apparent mortality risk of Corona for the entire under-70 crowd.
