It's not inconceivable that people suffering viral infections emit characteristic odours that canines smell, but it's very hard to imagine dogs could ever alight on specific viruses.

How this happens, is they have separate collection processes for the Corona and the control samples; the two groups acquire different odours in the processing and the dogs pick up on it.
