first, there is cross-reactive immunity from other coronaviruses already present in the population. no virus is totally novel. second, you’re talking about masking to protect the immuno-compromised, people whose immunity to all viral infections, novel or not, is vastly reduced

so you want to keep masking for the sake of the immune-compromised, because you think corona is new, even though you are now immune to it, and the immune-compromised are endangered by many viruses regardless of how new they are, & this problem never bothered you until year ago
