From the inside it looks like a bit of both to me. And yet the charming/infuriating American naïveté that presumes the rest of the world just wants to be American continues to dominate our foreign policy and intel folks.

Who, whom. We have these progressives who want gov't to micromanage and control every aspect of life. But when it is tech co's suppressing conservatives, suddenly they are 'duh free market, 'muh capitalism. There must be a who, whom aspect to this. we just can't see it.
