yeah, there’s a lot of lore, but my experience: the algorithms can impose limited periods of reply deboosting, mainly for aggressive language (?), but the bar is raised if you’re following some minimum of prominent leftist/establishment accounts

i got hit with reply deboosting a while ago after arguing with some Bidan supporter, it lifted for a few hours exactly 72 hours later and then seems to have auto-renewed for another 72-hour period, so i followed a bunch of blue checks and it never came back.
