It looks like there's increased susceptibility to infection between the first and second dose. In Singapore, they're also at the beginning of the months where they typically see most flu infections, so this is maybe a preview of what's to come for us, in the fall.

This is what concerns me, tbh. The only people I know of who have had a rough time with covid are the elderly and pregnant women. If the elderly are not protected by the vaccines, or worse, it's going to be a very unpleasant autumn.

Israeli data seem to show strong protective effects. Also here in Germany, we entered less-than-average mortality as soon as the nursing homes were vaccinated. Unclear what's going on with the fully vaccinated infections in Singapore.

Maybe they work when the season is fading out but at season onset they fail?
