Not necessarily. Different apparatuses of power representing faction A have historically levied war against faction B, when both A and B (in the aggregate) go against the People's interests.

Trump was obviously opposed by the entire elite establishment. All other theories of his presidency must proceed from this point.

If you listed institutions in this tiresome thread that support Trump they are not part of the establishment *by definition*

after a fashion, but the point isn't open to dispute. elite american institutions brook no support of trump. even i have enough experience in those circles to know how true that is.

A few elite political and media institutions were forced, by Trump’s enormous popularity, to enter compromise positions. The GOP didn’t support Trump until they were forced to; Fox News dropped their overt support as soon as they were able.

Obviously, a long line of institutions will at least mouth support for whoever is president. But institutions controlled by the American elite worked against Trump from the earliest moments of his candidacy. They were very open about their opposition.
