Welt notices the „vaccine paradox“, namely that many countries with rapidly accelerating vaxx campaigns see sudden jumps in infections. ...Then says this arises from lifting restrictions too soon, apparently not noticing that DE has lifted nothing.https://www.welt.de/politik/ausland/plus230330187/Corona-Bekaempfung-Das-Impf-Paradox-das-auch-Deutschland-droht.html …

I don’t know: The effect seems to exist only for some days after 1st dose. There were even hints of it in the vaxx trial studies.

My unsupported theory: A nontrivial number of people have persistent asymptomatic virus in their respiratory tract, and the vaxx turns them into symptomatic, contagious cases.

a lot of people have noticed the apparent connection with 1st-dose vaxx and case jumps, as for the precise mechanism I’ve seen nothing. several nursing homes had huge outbreaks days after getting 1st vaxx. as if they were prior, latent infections

If there is a link...the Indian govt's goal is to hit 400 million doses by July

Yes, assuming there‘s a link, the greatest hope would be that the seasonal effects of summer counteract the damage. At some point, the benefits of having a critical mass of fully vaccinated immune people will also counteract any upward pressure from the vaccines.

Prof Shamika RaviVerified account @ShamikaRaviThis has been intriguing me for some time. The second wave of infections in India seems to be closely following the vaccination drive - with a short time lag. Has this been the experience elsewhere? Scientist friends: pls share literature, data that can explain these trends. pic.twitter.com/2fC4RWbI381 reply 0 retweets 1 like
Until about two weeks ago, cases in Germany were directly linked to vaccinations. On any given day, cases reported were 3-7% of vaccine doses 17 days prior.

I think seasonal suppression ended the effect.
