Corona is a final argument against democracy. I mean the most benign interpretation of what has happened, is that retirees house-arrested for 6 months (& counting!) *the entire population of Germany* on the basis of ill-informed anxieties about a virus. That is fairest reading.

It's politics as a game of cards, in which the cards all mean something morally, outside of the game rules, and the actual outcome of the game doesn't matter nearly as much.
