You want to have an unquestioned silo of expertise where nobody ventures, then you need to stick to academic pursuits, get away from politics, and confine your pontificating to scientific journals.

Epidemiologists & medical bureaucrats have spent a year dictating the minutiae of economic & social policy – things they know nothing about. And then they express outrage that ordinary people venture to have opinions about Science, when that Science is ruining their lives.

Very good point. Apparently, it's also now impossible to learn about something you previously knew nothing about.

Learning is a politically suspect activity and ideally will take place only under the supervision of institutions and agents authorised by the elite.
