... so it was more than cargo-culting. They were given “secret” ready-translated documents about aspects of the Chinese response and corrected their own recommendations to accord with this information.
Then they carefully redacted all references to China out of the documents they were forced to release. Social media was a huge aspect of building political pressure in support of mass containment. These are things I’ve tweeted about heavily for months, with many direct sources.
China was far more ambitious than any European country, though. Testing of entire cities, quarantine for travel between provinces, etc.
