In guilty of being pro containmeny circa february of 2020 myself, though my preferred strategy was never implemented (borders) It was a different time
I was too, through April when the ventilator thing came apart and I noticed that a lot of people who had been pushing hard for lockdowns because ventilators barely noticed and switched smoothly to other arguments.

Lol I was worse. Didn't give up the ghost till the GF mourning process. TBF I am in lib central & have/had to keep up appearances.

But seeing how immediately the people who were most eager to break lockdown were minorities in LA (and they just... did it) then talking to my lib white family about how terrible conservatives were for protesting about it was eye-opening
