Polls say everyone is terrified of Corona & wants lockdowns forever. As for vaxx, we have high uptake only among elderly & at-risk; enormous reluctance among healthcare professionals & teachers. Either they just want lockdowns; or they‘re terrified to tell the polls the truth.

fwiw, a sociologist gave an interview on german TV a while ago and said he had data showing that 1/3 of the German public preferred life under lockdown.

When I was initially pushing the 15-20 percent theory, someone came back saying there was no way it could be that high, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's higher in a lot of cases. Maybe people were way more stressed by normal life than we thought? It's insane to me.

Me too. My only theory: Germany has one of the oldest populations in Europe, and I think just a huge number of people near retirement age, who are done with their careers, and ready to bow out now.
