If its a virus with a 99.7% chance of survivability, why do we need a vaccine?

Some of us like to breathe and taste and smell etc.

You know you can still get it, regardless of the vaccine... Right?

Yeah but you dont get your lungs ruined or go to the hospital.

Everyone I know who's had it, which is about 10 people, weren't hospitalised and had no prolonged side-effects (Thank God). Obviously I know not everyone's the same, but there's plenty of other underlying issues involved that kill people.

The survival rate just isn't the whole picture. The vaccine is objectively way less risky than the disease. Second dose is a doozy though.

This is now very unlikely to be true for all age groups. Preliminary data are that AstraZeneca causes more deaths than it prevents, or causes just as many deaths, until you’re over 60.

The myocarditis numbers look terrible for young men, and if the connection is confirmed, Pfizer will almost surely prove a bigger risk for them than Corona.
