If there is one error that runs like a bright thread thru the entire botched response to Corona, it is the attempt to universalise all solutions. Quarantine for everyone, vaccines for everyone, masks for everyone: There are situations in which each of these is as a good idea...

Also no willingness to admit mistakes & reconsider. Just arbitrary rules that must be followed. Instead of correcting course, they double down. This might work in other parts of the world, but following arbitrary rules because the "authorities" say so was never an American trait.
