Is it possible that people land direct icu (whatever bed type) without being registered in hospitalization?
That may well happen; moreover, the ICU numbers are almost totally complete, but the hospitalisation stats are very incomplete. That is, only a subset of infection reports include information, about whether the person was hospitalised or not.

Even allowing for this, as
@CoronaReduit points out, it looks like DE hospitalisation numbers are still abnormally low relative to ICU occupancy. Two possiblities: 1) We've had reports that a significant portion of Corona ICU patients are 2nd-wave holdovers. -
2) Despite all isolation procedures, Corona outbreaks within ICUs should be considered. These could easily inflate the ICU statistics.
