The librarians have been the worst, I want to fire all of them. They paste corona-doom newspaper clippings all over the walls, they work solitarily in masks, they inform on rule violations. It’s terrible, these vile little reshelvers nipping at everyone’s ankles.
Many serious academic libraries and archives etc remain completely closed, indefinitely, "out of an abundance of caution" (ofc). Among the effects of Covid-Mania, therefore, is a long disruption to access to collective human knowledge. It may end up being so for two full years.
For those who care about knowledge and intellectual inquiry et, this is a real loss. I wonder if the archetypal Corona-Panic Believer/Loyalist librarian type reflects on this...
