End/ many companies in UK focused on importing will benefit from closed borders post-Brexit, bc EU standards will no longer apply, and British ones are being "developed". Stop the public from cheap, easy travel to Europe and restrict the market and lots of money will be made.
fascinating, thanks. so broadly speaking, we would expect UK importers of EU products to gain from long-term border closures, or at least that would be a clear possibility for certain (many?) industries / businesses.

I think so yes. I have no economics training, this is just an opinion based on personal experience and living in different countries and noticing differences. South Africa, Australia, UK and now USA. I'm Aussie born, all family are back there.

Every time we go back to Australia I am dumbfounded at how expensive everything is compared to UK/USA. Especially anything with a safety aspect to it. Aussie kid's carseats cost a fortune and don't come close to European ones in safety or comfort.
