The last one of these I was on, the librarian at my institute delivered arguments for instituting a „book quarantine“. I and others objected, mainly for the sport of it, and some authority or other reduced the book quarantine period to 48 hours.

(All of us ignore the sign and use quarantined books as necessary, replacing them afterwards. The terrified librarian is in eternal home office and makes only occasional timid masked appearances.)
