Almost all Corona infections happen indoors, and yet every country enamoured of mass containment insists that people spend inordinate amounts of time indoors and places heavy restrictions on going outside.

I'll never forget the UK Health Secretary literally threatening to ban all outdoor exercise last April because some people were "breaking the rules" by sunbathing in public places. If this was truly about protecting our health such a thing would not have even been contemplated.

And usually such "enforcement" only end up causing unneeded close-range interactions that if anything increase the risk of spreading the virus. I recall seeing a video last year of a family taking a walk alone in the countryside, suddenly surrounded by four police officers.
