That's pretty neat. I bet it's well insulated thermally and acoustically. I always thought it was odd how those WWII air raid bunkers were towering above ground. They must have had a reason for that design.

in some cases they were preferred where water table or other geological features made underground bunkers less feasible. also i believe in many cases they were judged to be cheaper (if less effective).
