Alternatively, they consider it serious, just not to them. Mitigating a risk of death to thousands of (in their implicit estimation) others is not worth an added quantum of career risk to themselves (should something go wrong with vaccine etc. and they didn’t follow procedures).

Ironically, this is precisely the same ‘grandma-killing for the economy’ sin that they accused in those who wanted to e.g. keep a family business open, but magnified to an extreme degree. Killing thousands of grandmas for career reputational preservation.
