If lockdowns were real policies (and not magical fake ones), they would have clear expiration dates, & failure conditions: If infections go up despite lockdown, lockdown would be *lifted*, in the same way you stop dangerous ineffective treatments like chemo, when they don‘t work

That's not really how it works What actually matters here is what people, in general, are doing when it comes to the pandemic. And the will of the people often overrides and overpowers the pen of the executive leaders For ill or for the better

I forgot two more things Politicians can do a lot of stupid mistakes, that amounts to nothing or make the epidemic worse But, even if they have the best policy, that can amount to nothing if most of the people are just nutcases
