Web 2.0 companies destroying themselves wasn't a scenario I would've predicted. I expected them to be out-competed by better alternatives. My mistake was underestimating the power of idiots with money.

Peeps who work with Flutter. Do y'all still seriously use StatefulWidget and setState? Functional components and hooks ain't a thing yet?
That's pretty good.

Distance traveled for a 30min trip from the city center using different modes. See if you can spot the cities with decent public transit.

New map: How far away are major airports from their city's downtown center?
@BostonLogan and @SydneyAirport are among the world's most convenient; @Dulles_Airport not so much.

Still can't believe this massive family suburbia on the edge of the city is supposed to take their kids to this one school 5-7km from home right next to the bloody Gates of Dawn.

In less than 1h the Baltics will consume the most expensive hour of electricity ever - 4€/kWh. For that price I imagine it must truly be a unique piece of electricity. Handcrafted electrons, the crème de la crème, made by artisan turbines. It better be good.

Elevator’s been out of 3 months (7th floor).
Hot water is out for 5 days.
Cold water meter doesn’t work - free water!
Electricity got 3x more expensive though cause it’s ✨private✨ now, but they still can’t take readings remotely in 2022.
Awesome job utility companies!

The return train to Kaunas has very few people on it. Maybe those weren’t day trippers after all.

Turns out a large group of people on this train is on a mass-organized tour of some sorts. There’s a guy going around the train with a list collecting money. I guess that’s folks from Marijampolė taking advantage of 0% VAT on food items in PL.

There’s even a commemorative plaque in Šeštokai about the European rail link being restored in 1992. Not much progress since then with these two tiny diesel trains per week.

Trying out the cross border train to Suwałki and back today. It’s surprisingly quite full. Opening windows is prohibited - go figure 😷

We used these shared bikes. They're awesome! I kinda wish we had these in Vilnius. But then I realize the cycling infrastructure is nowhere near good enough for comfortably riding these things yet. Every poorly lowered curb would be a problem. No such issues in NL.

Spent the long Easter weekend biking and riding trains in NL. 🚲🚄 I might have been mentally affected. Getting around home town is gonna suck for a brief while now.

Alright. I figured out the Solana x Wormhole Bridge hack. ~300 million dollars worth of ETH drained out of the Wormhole Bridge on Ethereum. Here's how it happened.

Decathlon adds an affordable cargo e-bike to its line-up. Looks like a pimped up version of RadWagon, hence the almost 1k€ price diff.

Il y aura sans doute un avant et un après pour le marché du vélo cargo en France. Decathlon met en vente son longtail. Il faudra débourser 2.700 euros pour se l'offrir

If you're curious about startups and building companies, but too busy to care about crypto, Web3, NFTs and the like - let this be that one podcast you'll listen to.
Binge watched hours of Gensler's MIT course at 2x speed. Now every time I watch him talk somewhere feels like the man's in slo-mo.
