The ACE2 protein may be an effective treatment for the coronavirus by competing with the ACE2 receptor binding sites in our lungs, kidneys, and intestines that the coronavirus targets to gain entry into our cells. Genetically engineered yeast can produce ACE2 in large quantities.

And yes, it would be pretty ironic if the coronavirus can be treated or cured using the same species of yeast that also makes Corona beer.

#coronarovirus vaccine, Invio (based in the U.S.) is close behind and an Australian team too. Would really be interested to see your take on the next steps, and if any other scientists are close to developing a vaccine too.
