This strain of E. Coli creates a Shiga toxin that stops our cells from producing the proteins they need to live, exactly like how the deadly poison ricin works. Cow don’t have the Shiga toxin receptor in their intestines so they can have E. Coli O157:H7 without any symptoms.

Overuse of antibiotics in our farm animals encourages the growth of this deadly strain of E. Coli over other bacteria, causing these cows to shed huge amounts of it in their feces which then contaminates the water farmers use to water our crops like Romaine lettuce.

We are a first world country yet we don’t have basic food safety because of first world problems like the overuse of antibiotics. So in essence the FDA under Trump encourages the spread of E. Coli O157:H7 in livestock and discourages testing the water contaminated by their feces.

Let's not forget the billions in bailout money Trump paid to farmers for the failed tariff fiasco with China.
-
Most of the soybean farmers will not make a profit from that $12 billion bailout. The storage costs alone eats into their profits. There are MEGAtons of soybeans that are rotting bc there isn't a demand for them anymore. Many farmers plowed them under instead of harvesting them.
-
And it is only going to get worse. But then of course the family farmer can just sell up to big Ag. That will solve that. And most likely in his gang's game plan anyway. They honestly don't give a rats tush about a family farm.
-
I read that not even 1 Billion of the alotted 14 billion has been given to the farmers yet
-
That's correct, as of yesterday only $800,000 out of the $12 billion has been allocated so far. Most of it, went to conglomerates like the Archer Daniels Midland Company. Who have already made millions selling farmers plastic grain storage bags for the surplus grain.
-
I wonder how much of that money went to nune's, and was it McConnel who also has a farm and applied for this aid even though they do not need it at all
-
I knew it was McConnel or Gassley (intended) ... they both seem like the type. And for Nune's I'd be surprised if he didn't do something ridiculous

Isn't it the governments job to protect its citizens? Instead we are pretty much being abused mentally and physically.

“James Gorny, a former industry lobbyist whom the FDA hired in February to implement produce safety rules, told the group that the agency would not ask anything of growers in the interim.”
-
“Gorny’s hiring by the FDA mirrors a pattern across public health and environmental agencies. The Trump administration has appointed dozens of former industry officials and lobbyists to relax regulations designed to protect public health.”

Thanks Rosemary!

tRump is bent on removing anything Obama did no matter how much it costs us, how many people get hurt or how badly it affects the environment. I live in Yuma AZ where a large portion of winter produce is grown. These outbreaks cost our farmers thousands upon thousands of dollars.
-
And who do those farmers vote for? A lot of seniors from my area of Canada winter in Yuma. We have to de-program them from Fox propaganda brainwashing when they get back in the spring. It is sad.
-
We do have a lot of Canadians who winter here, not as many this year as in past. I hope they bear with us until we can get rid of the current administration. Yuma is gerrymandered the southern part is blue and the north is red. I have no clue how they voted, either way it is sad.
-
I visited once, had a great time! Saw the prison (of course). Ran the Great Yuma Road Race. I don't think it's Yuma that brainwashes them so much as the other seniors in the retirement parks! I wish you luck. Nice to see you've got a gem senator now.
-
I hope you come & visit again! After we are free of this admin. Our winters are still awesome! There is so much to do now in winter! I think it is the age group, a lot of older people still vote conservative because it used to represent their core beliefs, it has stayed so far!

Maybe someday. My inlaws sold their place there, were tired of the toxic politics. We chose to go to New Zealand this year. My parents gave up their Palm Springs time share. We are waiting until Trump is gone before returning. The sooner the better!
-
New Zealand sounds fascinating! I hope you have a great vacation there! I hope the toxicity comes to a close soon. It is sad to see what it has done as has done to relations with our allies!
-
It was great, thank-you! We’re all rooting for a return to sanity again soon!
