related: making positive notes while reviewing papers saves me tons of time. I used to make only critical notes, then I'd start writing up my review and realize that I have to list strengths as well as weaknesses, then go back and re-read looking for strengths

one of many unfortunate things about interviewing SWEs is that candidates are primed to expect a certain problem type and complexity. they get asked fizzbuzz and start looking for the dynamic programming solution, and then they get dinged for overcomplicating things.

cool to hear from that brings developers into the lab for user studies. do any web browsers do this for web platform APIs? I don't think Chrome does...

We've been thinking about how to making permission requests for notifications less interruptive in Chrome. Trying to strike balance: loud enough for you notice the important ones and quiet enough so that you can ignore the rest. Feedback welcomed!

some people say that mandatory code review is a waste of time, but there's really no substitute for the insight you get from a second pair of eyes on your code
