The 2018 BlizzCon book incorrectly references winners of StarCraft tournaments in 2007, 2008, and 2014. In fact, these titles are vacant, as the players were discovered to have participated in match-fixing. We regret the errors.

They did match-fix at some point but they won their BlizzCon title fair & square & no one can take that away from them! Did you also ask them to give back they prize money? For me they will always be BlizzCon champions! Trying to make us forget will make us remember even more!

feel sad for the fans at those events, such beautiful games effectively removed from history for unrelated match-fixing convictions. Obviously needs to be made an example of but is there an example if you erase all traces?

Yeh I understand not to mention him and the lifetime ban is a just punishment enough. He legitimately won those championships and shame on you guys calling it vacant. His ban is sufficient enough punishment

I disagree with this decision. They won fair and square. They committed very serious crimes and are being duly punished through lifetime bans but this attempt to erase history is dumb.

I don't think it is an attempt to "erase" history. If someone clearly manipulated their work unfairly and harmed their colleagues irreparably, does it not follow they should not maintain the honor and accolades from that industry?
