My kid experimented with different names at that age, it was sweet.
My godfather did this when he was three! His name was Gaetano and he decided he would be “Tommy.” My dad called him Tom his entire life. It was always weird at events where I referred to him as “Uncle Tom” while everyone else called him “Uncle Guy.”
