I am really sick of having to write the same story over and over

  3. I can't stop thinking about what one activist, who's been working to pass these six-week bans for over a decade, told me yesterday: “This is a long-term, strategic vision that’s yet to be fully implemented." "This is only half done.”

  4. What a lot of people still don't understand is that this Texas law is part of a long-term strategy to undermine Roe. Anti-abortion activists have been throwing every restriction they can against the wall until they find something that sticks. And they still have more to throw.

  5. Will Corporate America Take a Stand on Texas Abortion Law? "Corporate America has been silent for too long on this issue while they draw PR kudos for their pro-women, C-suite-style feminist girl-boss facade," Sonja Spoo of told me.

There's been a lot of revealing reporting on the universe of Time's Up. I'm extremely impressed by this story by , who dove deep into what it's like to work at the place devoted to workplace equality for women. It's apparently not great!

Over the last several weeks, survivors and advocates told me that they’ve failed to see the Time’s Up apparatus live up to its lofty promises. Some are not so sure that it can disentangle itself from its powerful allies and re-focus on survivors.

Does it apply to self-managed abortions? To abortions outside the state of Texas? Probably not! But someone could still try to sue you for it anyway!

One of the most striking things about listening to legal experts discuss this Texas abortion ban is that no one can really answer questions about it, because ~literally anyone~ can enforce it

New reporting from reveals ties between ‘Time’s Up’ leaders and former Gov. Andrew Cuomo's office were more extensive than earlier acknowledgements. Not good.

Time's Up's celeb backers appear to be standing behind Tina Tchen. But some survivors say she needs to go. “You can ask for all the feedback in the world," said, "but if you’re one of the perpetrators, you just shouldn’t be at the table.”

Talked to a doctor this weekend at a hospital with 10 pregnant women in the ICU from COVID. (7 are on ventilators.) “All I can say is get vaccinated," she said. "I’m not saying you can’t get COVID ... but hopefully it will keep you out of an ICU.”

New: There's no tweet that can capture the yearning, betrayal, dilemmas and resolve reflected in our story about the "existential crisis" at Time's Up.

But some former staffers say it's too little, too late. “This organization has not even been around for four years," one told me. "I don’t think it’s worth turning around.”
