At #CM22, we will build on the successes of programmes. By taking modelling & monitoring to the next level we can improve our response to the #climatecrisis, be it sea-level rise, glaciers melting, deforestation or extreme weather: we can only manage what we can measure.

Our proposals for #CM22 will further strengthen Europe’s position in its role of global climate guardian and champion within a growing green economy by developing new applications and creating business opportunities in a fast-evolving geo-services sector.

Meeting the commitments and targets of the #ParisAgreement, , as well as international pledges on deforestation, coal mining and methane emissions, would be impossible without the insights of Earth observation with their long-term data records.

We will work to move from enabling climate research to also empowering climate action. Beyond keeping promises, it’s about saving lives and dealing better with the increased threat of natural disasters by providing warning signals, emergency management and post-impact assessment.
