Everytime to governor orders the closure of prisons we hear this. Over 6 years ago 8 facilities throughout the State were closed and ALL staff was transferred to other facilities. No one lost a job, these communities rely too heavily correctional facilities for their economy.

Some facilities are located in communities that can & shouldn't suffer by closures. The upstate facilities are frequently located in towns where they are close to the largest employer. Either way, if they need replacement or closure, it need happen despite concern for jobs.
