Brandon Bernard is scheduled to be executed tonight. The crime was 20 years ago. He was a teenager. He didn't pull the trigger. The Trump administration is on track to execute 13 people before he leaves office. It would be more federal executions than the past 67 years combined.

Maybe I’m projecting because my parents have always held very blue collar jobs after migrating to Canada, idk. I just think this idea that “immigrants are our doctors and engineers!” narrative is a harmful one. Your job and tax bracket does not dictate your worth. Ever.

I understand the sentiment here, but I don’t think that migrants need to do ground-breaking/ extraordinary work to be considered human beings worthy of rights and protections...

some act like the problem with carbon removal is "moral hazard" - that fossil fuel corps will exploit us via *doing* it but this scenario has always been infinitely likelier: that they will exploit the *idea* of doing it + failure of govts to mandate it

Erin also highlighted priorities for Biden admin: 1/ update the DOE’s work through Office of Fossil Energy. We need an office motivated by climate and not a resource 2/ strengthen class VI wells & build a functioning regulatory system as a whole 3/ cross- agency coordination!
