I used to develop training for software. Initial software release: "We don't need training on this software, the UI is so intuitive that anyone can use it." 3 months after release "We need deep training for the software ASAP. Our users can't figure it out."
Having spent far to much time in chats explaining to people how to play various games, I know that no one ever knows what the intuitive icons are meant to be, or where any menu or button is, without quite a lot of direction. It's the same with any software.
